Hong Kong & then some...

Hello wonderful family,
For those of you who didn't know, I traveled to Hong Kong for a week. I must say it was quite fabulous.

This is a view of the city from a street bridge that was right near the hostel we stayed in (very cheap by the way). Luckily, the weather was beautiful & sunny for most of our stay in Hong Kong.

First-time experience to hang out in an ice bar...freezing cold...but quite nice. Other night life scenes we got to check out was Dragon-I, one of the most exclusive clubs/bars in Hong Kong (one of the people we were traveling with knew people :P). Also, it was VERY, ah hem, interesting? to visit hooker road...a long stretch of road full of bars and clubs that includes hundreds of hookers & businessmen....yech.

We rode a tram up to the peak of a mountain to view the city. But unfortunately, it was a really hazey day :(

After a guided tour around Hong Kong, we ended our night on a boat where we ate a lovely buffet with live music. Afterwards, we got to watch the city's light show from the roof of the boat.

These pictures were taken in Macau Island. The reason the 1st pic doesn't have the feel of an Asian community is because just until recently, Macau used to be owned by the British colony. It was interesting to hear all the Asians there speak English with strong British accents. The 2nd pic is of a Buddist temple. The last pic overlooking a river; there on the other side is China! Macau Island holds the busiest casino in the world; we stopped by, until too many dollars later, we realized that it was a little too high rollin' for us college kids.

These photos were taken at Ki's (one of my good friends here) sister's wedding. Her family was gracious enough to let me come join the festivities. The actual wedding ceremony itself was pretty westernized, but after the reception, the bride & groom went Korea-style & did the traditional Korean blessing/bowing ceremony. It was overall a lovely evening.

So the wedding was in Korea...right?

Yeah, mom told me that you were going to go to Hong Kong. I heard they have a pretty good deal too...like 3 days in China and get to visit the Wall and such.

Looks like you're having fun! Where are you getting all of the cash to spend? = P

Yes the wedding was actually held here at Yonsei...there's a wedding hall here. Ki's sister's (now) husband was a graduate from Yonsei University (he's a native Korean)...

As for the cash...c'mon, I didn't work as a waitress forever for nothin'!
