"Ugly " Flower

When Koreans see ugly women, they point and whisper, "zucchini flower!" I don't know why zucchini flowers seem ugly. This picture was taken in our backyard.

여기있는 호박꽃을 보라! 얼마나 이쁘냐!~ 호박꽃이라 하여도 마음 상하지마라.

(esther's note: Is there such a thing as a an ugly flower? That's a contradictory metaphor. Mom thought that the flower was too beautiful to be described as ugly, so she doesn't want your feelings to be hurt if you ever overhear someone whispering, "호박꽃!" )
