Brigade Commander

So I found out this morning I'll be next semester's Brigade Commander! I couldn't believe it (because of my poor grades)! But I just wanted to tell you guys before you heard it from somebody else.

Love you guys!

That is really awesome, and you never cease to impress me.

But how would I have heard it from anyone else???

amazing!- Praise God!! Isn't that interesting how you knew what to really focus on this past year? wow.

I googled usna & brigade commander and am so proud of you! (Reading that nominations were based on leadership, academic and athletic abillities-- making decisions for the school, having a bigger room, academy's top student dog...etc)

I did the same thing, Esther! In addition to the USNA FAQ page, I found this article about another brigade commander to learn more about the position:

http://scholar.lib.vt.edu/VA-news/VA-Pilot/issues/1997/vp971106/11050669.htm

Which leads me to think, shouldn't we contact Congressman Blunt (who nominated you) and the Springfield-News Leader for a story?

Now, Samuel, is this for the year or only a semester?

Are you the first Korean Brigade Commander?

And I'm dumb, I just read your post again, and it's for the semester, right?

Based on that article, it sounds like, while academics are important, they look more at the overall leadership skills, which you definitely have.

Wow, Samuel! How wonderful! They could not have made a better choice. I'm so proud of you, and the Academy is so fortunate to have you impacting all the people there!

oppa, because you are not on facebook, I don't know how you would've heard it. The only people would be me & Anne, and we'd definitely want Sang-Tae to let you know!

The first woman BC was in 1991, but I'm curious as to the first Korean BC ;) bwahah.

Good job for contacting the news-leader oppa!!! I DEFINITELY think Springfield should know! :D woooooot! and yes, Blunt should know.

lol! wow...overwhelming = P
It's for a semester, but 1st semester B.C. is a lot more high profile because they go to all of the football games and lead the brigade on the field...I'm really nervous, but I'm super excited about the opportunity to serve and learn and meet people!
