Colonial Williamsburg

We got away for the weekend and visited Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. So much fun! As you can see, we got ourselves into a little trouble. We came to the conclusion that while the town is great, colonial food is not our favorite. We took a ghost walk (somewhat chilling), a walking tour discussing how the "other half" lived (enslaved inhabitants of Williamsburg... very good), and a walking tour of "necessities, niceties, and luxuries" (don't even get us started on that last one... ICK!). Colonial Williamsburg is definitely worth seeing. We hope to go see Jamestown and Yorktown, on a future trip, as well as some plantations.

In other news... I have a job!!! I start on Monday, so I have this week to mentally prepare. I will be working at Community Connections, which is in an... um.... "exciting".... part of DC. Technically, I will be a "Community Support Specialist," and I will be going in-home to provide all sorts of services to chronically mentally ill adults. David and I weighed the options, and it seems that this position was just the best fit for me, all the way around. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.

Interview Monster

Whoa. Sorry for my long absence. Do you know that I literally forgot my username and password, it's been so long?? :p Well, I'm back. ;) Life in Alexandria is wonderful. I'd never find my way anywhere without Lilly (the car), but that's okay. For the most part (aside from normal household things), I spend my days looking for jobs, applying, and (now, thankfully) interviewing (not to mention hanging out with my wonderful husband). No job has been finalized yet, but when there's an income, I'll think we're rich. :) I hope to put my life back on some sort of schedule... I seem to work better that way. I'm getting back on track, but I hope to start exercising again. That is all people do here... exercise and walk their dogs. I'm pretty sure that most people don't even have jobs... how could they pull themselves away from the spandex and leashes long enough to work? .... hmmmm.... on that note, perhaps I should secure a job before getting too attached to this exercise thing. ;)

School

School is going . . . lots of hw, that's for certain. How was your birthday Anne? I hope the big 21 was all it is cracked up to be. Esther, your 31 Aug blog is in draft mode so I can't see the pic. And I couldn't believe how bad the English was in the email you sent.

I'm doing well, I just got off of my crutches from my stress fracture and I have been swimming everyday. I'm trying to keep in shape even though I can't really do anything but swim or bike. Other than school, I'm not really doing anything that cool. I'll be going to Duke in like 3 weeks, but because of that I gave my tickets to the Drew Carey thing to Tom and his parents, which is still good since I want somebody to enjoy the show. Sorry Sarah and David, but I'll think of something to make up for it. Maybe even a Glee Club concert. = ) If you're into that sort of thing. Well, hope you guys are doing well.
