The Big 10K!

The Crew: Post-Race
(Please forgive me for the several month delay in officially posting this... I wanted to make a few change, but at this point... I've given up... what you see is what you get.) ;)
Saturday (July 22nd?) was the First Annual RunSlim Rock N Run 10K (light on the "rock," heavy on the "run," as it turns out). Last I heard, 400 people were estimated to have run, and a group of six of us from work ran the race... I was the only "rookie." I think my finishing time was around 1 hour 5 minutes (a "rookie" mistake, as I learned... my coworkers were like "what?? you didn't look at your time when you crossed the finish line? you'll learn..." But, I wasn't really running it for the time, so... okay. David was the BEST. I could never have done it without his training advice and constant support, and seeing him waiting there cheering at the finish line really gave me the last boost I needed. He had brought Gatorade for all of us and had it there at the finish. More than one of us said, "This is the best Gatorade I've EVER had!!" It was a really memorable and wonderful experience.

Korea University (and our cousin gyung min eeh)

My home for the next 10 months or so (after YP's and explaining to the Naval Academy = 0 )...

ENM and Korea University!

And this is the bottom floor, right behind the computers you'll see below...it's like a little coffee shop area with kitchen and TV where people can have fellowship...I live on the 2nd floor and we have praise and worship on the 4th floor...looks like a regular church on the 4th floor...the basement is a parking lot, but there are 4 ping pong tables that can be set up and 1 pocket ball (pool) and 1 Korean pool (two red balls and 2 white balls). And a shower room down there 3 shower heads for the guys...maybe more for the girls since there are more of them...but don't think so...

Usually 8 people can sleep in the room, each person usually gets one locker, and there are those overhead things, 2 for each, but since there aren't many guys here (10...room for 24), there's only 3 of us living in this room...3 identical rooms next door, and there is a kitchen and restroom and shower room
If I was female I wouldn't be able to do this program because there are already 72 sisters living here! They occupy floors 3, 5, and 6 24 * 3 floors = 72...yeah, talk about crowded! They actually have a pretty strict policy on admittance = P

The Samsung Centennial Memorial building built in 2005

My home for like 10 months...

The fountain and the main gate...

The main building you see as you walk in through the main gate and around the fountain and past many many steps

The fountain in front of the library...it's a nice library...it's their main one

LG Posco gyung uh gel...whatever thatmeans...and part of the fountain above

This is about 10 meters from the entrace of the building...6 computers with a printer, but a lot of people have laptops and there is internet connection in every room...The lady in the back is one of the teachers at KLCC..she's marrying Dr. SB Lee in October...but she's for advanced, level 6, so I won't be her student anytime soon. The person standing is gee hyun...the leader of the brothers at ENM, he was born in 1979 and working to get a PHD in Material Engineering or Science..whatever eeh moh boo has...but not accepted yet to the PHD program at KU even though he received his BA and MA ...and the guy sitting down is just part of the older enm brothers...doesn't live at enm, but is still come to enm for fellowship and worship born in 1975, PHD candidate for some engineering thing

Incheon memorial hall...

At the airport...he made weh sam chun drive 2 hours to Incheon so he could see mom and dad leave...his condition is sad = (

But yeah, I hope these post all right...it seemed to upload really quick so the pics might be small...

A couple outings in Colorado

Here's some pics I recovered from Danae's camera. We decided to visit her little bro (sam's age!) at open mic night. Meet Daryl. You can check his band out on myspace. but I like his solo act better than the band.He joins a couple friends for a little jam session
girlfriend molly making a cute face after he plays

This past weekend, I met up with an old friend who also happens to be here. So the four of us (me, Danae, Tiffany, and dog Rocca) hiked Mt. Bierstadt, one of the fourteeners near Denver. We were so close to the top but didn't make it because of me. I started getting dizzy and it was not cool. My friends wanted me home safe even though I wanted to get to the top. :(
Danae chillin' on a cliff. It was beautiful.
Danae accompanied by her dog, Rocca.nice weather & a happy dogafter the hike w/ Tiff

BET POSTED AS COMMENT!

I hope you guys read the draft...I was wondering why Esther kept drafting so many posts...because it's all in Korean and I didn't know which one to push!

So spending time with the relatives...Daejon where I played tennis with Paul's folks...gohmohboo is good! He actually coached me and hit about 700 balls to me...yeah, I was pretty tired after that...in Busan met up with the grandparents and wehsamchun, then met up with Sang-Woo's family. They moved again and have an even bigger home that overlooks haeundae beach. I went to a bath house today and got all of my dead skin cells rubbed off...it was pretty disgusting to see how much was on my body...

Also talked with the grandparents and the 'rents and wehsamchun. I knew that grandpa was rich, but I didn't realize how rich...I mean in the 1998 Asian financial crisis he lost over 2million dollars due to cosigning a machine while he was drunk...yeah, that's why wehsamchun and grandma get so ticked when all he does is drink and wet himself...it's sad, but it's different when you have to live with someone who can't take care of themselves. It's also sad that he's lost 10's of millions of dollars, no exaggeration, due to his closest friends taking advantage of him. Mom told me this...and why he saved up so much money...his life dream was to build a school = (
David, is this why you said you wanted to make a school with me? I told mom that it was going to be a goal of mine to make a school, somewhere, and name it after him. We'll see...
