Hawaii Video = )

This is at the Paradise Cove Luau that we went to. It's only a short video...the other one is of me throwing a spear. I have other video of hula dancers and such, but it takes forever to get these videos downloaded!

Waikiki - where I went body boarding and almost ran into that stupid rock wall...yeah, and the reef there is only 2 feet deep = 0 It was still fun. Diamond head can be seen from there...

I think on top of one of the hikes we went on...

The USS Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri onboard our VIP tour boat from the boathouse of the Commander of the Pacific Fleet...yeah, it was nice not having to wait in line for hours or paying for the tour.

Sky diving! Jumped out at 12000 to 14000 feet, had a 45 sec to min free fall, then a 3 to 8 minute parachuting ride...it was such an amazing view! This was on the North Shore of Oahu...I think 2 videos

This is the end result of a 2 mile or so hike through the "Wainamano (jungle trails leading to the) Pools." The trail there was like what you'd think in "Lost." It was absolutely AMAZING!

Mid-Atlantic Travellers

Hey guys!

Sarah and I have been busy travelling up and down the coast the past few weekends. We went to a Orioles game a couple of weekends ago because they were playing the Royals. I'm sure that you guys are not following baseball, especially being out of the country (at least off of the main land, right Samuel?), but the Royals are on pace to set the record to be the worst team in baseball... EVER. Anyway, we saw them get clobbered by a mediocre Orioles team 11-1.

Then, we went to Philadelphia, where we enjoyed gelato, philly cheesesteaks and running up the steps like Rocky!

This past weekend, we went to Richmond (well, the James River plantations) and Virginia Beach... pictures of all of these trips to follow! (ask Sarah... she has the camera)

Still In Hawaii

So I thought I was going to leave 2 days ago, but then my flight got delayed, then cancelled. = P

That's okay though because I got to go to this huge fleamarket called the "Swap Meet" and there are hundreds of vendors lined up outside of Aloha Staidum (where they play the Pro-Bowl). Then went hiking at Wiminoa Pools, which is like going through a huge jungle (think "Lost"), then lead to a waterfall with a rope swing. It was AMAZING! Then had BBQ and then today, tried figuring out when the next flight to Korea was...apparently Osan shut down incoming flights until June 5th, so we'll see...It's okay though because I'm staying with another group of midshipmen who are here on the same program I was on except for later dates. It works out. I just got back from another hike, not nearly as strenuous as the jungle yesterday, but went to the highest peak in the area and looked down on the beaches, a light house, and such. I will post pics, I just keep forgetting to bring my cable for my camera to this place. btw, this place is called "Liberty in Paradise" and is for the active duty sailors/marines in Pearl Harbor. It's absolutely SICK (in a good way)! 20 flat screens for movie watching or Xbox or PS2, pool table, fooseball (sp?), ping-pong, a theatre room...yeah, it's really nice. Some people here are a littel weird though since they spend all of their time playing games whenever they could be out surfing or whatever on the beaches.

Okay, I will stop boring you, and later I will put up my pics. You will be sure to enjoy them...hopefully.

Love you all!

Hong Kong & then some...

Hello wonderful family,
For those of you who didn't know, I traveled to Hong Kong for a week. I must say it was quite fabulous.

This is a view of the city from a street bridge that was right near the hostel we stayed in (very cheap by the way). Luckily, the weather was beautiful & sunny for most of our stay in Hong Kong.

First-time experience to hang out in an ice bar...freezing cold...but quite nice. Other night life scenes we got to check out was Dragon-I, one of the most exclusive clubs/bars in Hong Kong (one of the people we were traveling with knew people :P). Also, it was VERY, ah hem, interesting? to visit hooker road...a long stretch of road full of bars and clubs that includes hundreds of hookers & businessmen....yech.

We rode a tram up to the peak of a mountain to view the city. But unfortunately, it was a really hazey day :(

After a guided tour around Hong Kong, we ended our night on a boat where we ate a lovely buffet with live music. Afterwards, we got to watch the city's light show from the roof of the boat.

These pictures were taken in Macau Island. The reason the 1st pic doesn't have the feel of an Asian community is because just until recently, Macau used to be owned by the British colony. It was interesting to hear all the Asians there speak English with strong British accents. The 2nd pic is of a Buddist temple. The last pic overlooking a river; there on the other side is China! Macau Island holds the busiest casino in the world; we stopped by, until too many dollars later, we realized that it was a little too high rollin' for us college kids.

These photos were taken at Ki's (one of my good friends here) sister's wedding. Her family was gracious enough to let me come join the festivities. The actual wedding ceremony itself was pretty westernized, but after the reception, the bride & groom went Korea-style & did the traditional Korean blessing/bowing ceremony. It was overall a lovely evening.
