DAD'S BIRTHDAY

I talked to umma tonight and she said be sure not to call the house April 6th to Sunday morning at church because they have a package deal of 2 days and 3 nights in Branson to see Shoji and the ShowBoat Branson Belle and stuff. Cool stuff...also, anybody have any ideas for birthday gifts for dad?

MISSION TRIP

I have been talking to different people about taking a year off...I found out from SB Lee that he is in charge of a group like Campus Crusade in Korea at the University of Korea, which I'm guessing is Seoul National University. Anyway, he said he could get me a spot with the missions team, a part time job teaching English, and basically having a place to stay...I'm not sure if I'm going to do it yet, but during the summer when I am in Korea, I would like to go to this Prayer Mountain that Esther has informed me about. Just wanted to update you guys on that. = )

Korea in Pictures

To make up for my previous LONG, pictureless post, here's a view from my side of the world!

This one of the campus museums that is in the middle of our campus...

And what's Korea without a little karaoke??

"Play with me!!!"

Yesterday was March 14, also known as White Day. It's a holiday where girls receive chocolates & gifts from boys (whereas Valentine's Day is the opposite). All day long I saw girls with large arrays of flowers, balloons, chocolates, etc. So, in DIShonor of White Day, a few of us girls decided to go out. Behind us in the picture is a bunch of gifts & cutsie stuff for sale on the street (they were EVERYWHERE)...we're all supposed to be frowning, but I couldn't help it. haha.

Now that I finally have my digital camera back, I will update more posts (with pictures!) about my travels. So...

To be continued...

VBS for Ten

Hey guys, I need your help. Our church apparently has a sad VBS. Last year, we had 10 kids. Seriously. And our church is a decent size. We have more kids than that for Sunday kid's service! Sarah said that the Sarcoxie VBS had about 50. SARCOXIE!

Anyway, I need your ideas: what worked, what didn't. Everything you remember. Things you liked, why you went, who it serves, what it should be like, EVERYTHING. I need all your thoughts.

Either post them or email me directly. The church's goal for this year is 60 kids (it's the 60th anniversary for the VBS). I need your help!!!

Jim's Birthday

This is a pic from a few nights ago at my friend Jim's birthday party. We had dinner at a nice restaurant, and we had a fun time.

These are most of my law school friends - Rennie, Lindsay, (me, Sarah), Nassim, Jim, and Jessica is taking the picture. Jim and Jessica were at our wedding, so you may recognize Jim (maybe). Nassim was originally invited, but Jessica brought Jim instead...

The group went out afterward, but we were both tired, and Sarah had to work the next day, so we just went home, like the married couple that we are.

It's not an end... it's a beginning

In an effort to win ... something related with home buying, we decided to enter a contest hosted by ING.

To get extra points on the application, we needed to upload a pic showing off our "orange." Well, we don't really have a lot of orange in our home, so we had to improvise... and hence the picture you see here.

I don't know if we'll win... but Sarah did a really good job of writing our essay (which was to be 100 words or less), so I hope that we're at least in the running.

Anne, we got your postcard today and it was awesome! We hope that you learn a lot of Korean... and it's not important where you start, but where you finish.

Past Saturday

Here's picture of me and my squad at Hee Been. We ate there this past Sunday. It was DELICIOUS as always. I love eel and bulgogi and mmmm, I'm getting hungry.

I also have some random videos of us at the local SPCA. I'm not sure which videos I put in, but they're not too shabby.

I'm off to Arizona in 1 hour!!! man, I need to sleep!

Lucky Salesman

Today, these three beautiful girls accompanied me to Yongsan, the electronics district in Seoul. Yongi and his computer friend met up with us to help us purchase a laptop without getting ripped off by the vicious salesmen. Seriously, even Yongi warned us not to get too close to the booths. It's a jungle out there.

Pam, Karen (Anne's roomie), and your very own

Perfect and fitting laptop for Anne & Pam...at least for what they required of it. There were only two requirements: lightweight and not celeron...so they got the HP Pavilion dv1000.

I, on the other hand, got a different model, dv4000. I'm happy with what I got. Hopefully, I will use my time wisely with it in my last six months here!

We were pretty much there forever, so Pam and Anne couldn't contain their excitement. As for poor Karen, the only one that walked out without a laptop, let the time pass by simply taking a little nap.

큰아버지's Joy

This is from the middle of December when I went to 안돔 to be with 큰아버지's family. We went out to eat and afterwards, they were trying to teach 도훈 how to make the bottles whistle.

New Years

This is for February. Now that we have two new onlookers to our publication, I feel like I should update last month's post. I've been getting lazy about it.

The Jeoungs dressed the part for New Year's. Afterwards, we had ddukgook. I had several pics of them flashing all the bills they got but thought it was more inappropriate for mommy and daddy to see.
